The Instituto Homo Caballus (iHOCA), was founed by Mara and Bjarke Rink and other founding members, to insure a legacy for future generations.
iHOCA's mission is to :
promote the partnership between man and horse for the well-being of both and for the sustainable development of the Cachoeiras de Macacu region.

The Instituto Homo-Caballus (iHOCA) aims to:
- promote the equitation science, equestrianculture and the Man-Horse symbiosis
- promote the development and democratization of Equitation, as a physical activity, therapy and for leisure and as a educational and professional sport, including contributing to the development of future generations of horse lovers, athletes, trainers and instructors.
- promote ecotourism, outdoor activitues and sustainable development in the Cachoeiras de Macacu region

- horse therapy
- equestrianism and inclusive citizenship
- equestrianism as a way for young people to discover the outdoor life
- sustainable development of the destination of Cachoeiras de Macacu.
- equestrian culture and history
- conservation and environmental education
